Campaign results

Wow – our crowdfunding campaign was a wild ride from start to finish! 360 backers pre-ordered over 1,000 floats, for a final total of $47,750. Thank you all so much for your support.

Once we catch our breath, we’ll be sending out a survey to all of our backers, gathering the information we need. Keep an eye out!

FINAL TALLY: $47,750

Let’s review how it went.

Basic Goal

$8,000 ➡︎Achieved!

We needed at least $8,000 from you, our supporters, just to be able to open our doors.  In fact, this was a fixed-target campaign, and if we hadn’t hit at least this level, your credit cards wouldn’t have been charged and we’d have got nothing.

We actually cleared this goal on our first day.  You guys are VIP to us forever.

Stretch Goals

$15,000 ➡︎Achieved!

With this funding level, we’ll be able to afford better soundproofing in the float rooms.  Soundproofing is like love – you can never have too much.

$23,000 ➡︎Achieved!

With this level, we can build a more comfortable post-float re-combobulation space.  Sometimes people come out of the tank feeling really trancy, and it’s good to have a peaceful space to have a bit of tea and re-gather your wits before heading back out into the world.  We’d love to give you a really nice space to do that in.

$28,000 ➡︎Achieved!

By clearing this level,  we’ll be able afford to make our private float rooms really comfortable with individually thermostat-controlled radiant heat.  Our rooms will be perfectly toasty for you, never too hot or too cold.

$31,000 ➡︎Achieved!

You know what else we’ll love to do for you guys?  We’ll love to get you really nice soft absorbent towels for all the showers you have to take before and after floating.  Towels can be expensive, and we’re going to need a lot of them.  But since you guys kept this campaign rolling, we can get you famous fluffy towels.

$37,000  ➡︎Achieved!

Man, this is so great.  The campaign is rolling along so well we can think more and more of doing things because they’re awesome and worthwhile even if not totally functional.  One thing we’ve wanted to do ever since we thought about opening a shop in this town is to find a local artist or maker to partner with and make something really cool and distinctive for our reception area.  One of the things we love best about Somerville is the incredible density of local art, and we really want to take advantage of that and support the community.

We don’t know yet exactly what we’ll do, as we’ll definitely want input from the craftsperson we select.  But it will be cool.

$44,000  ➡︎Achieved!

Thanks to you guys we’re already getting a local artist or maker to do something cool in our reception area.  Now maybe we can do something awesome and local back in our post-float lounge space also.

We don’t know yet exactly what we’ll do, as we’ll definitely want input from the craftsperson we select.  But it will be cool.
