Part of Float’s mission from the beginning was to be an active member of our local community. In our first year, we donated floats to over a dozen silent auctions and fundraisers, including:
- Somerville Homeless Coalition
- Gentle Giant Rowing Club
- Center for Teen Empowerment
- Friends of Hathorne
- Respond, Inc: RESPONDing to Domestic Violence
- Haymakers for Hope
- LGBT Asylum Support Task Force
- Families for Depression Awareness
- Malden YMCA
- Somerville Overcoming Addiction (facebook)
- Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, New England Chapter
- Waltham Fields Community Farm
- Black Cat Rescue
I want to direct your attention especially to the last two – these fundraisers are coming up soon! Go and keep an eye peeled for our gift certificates.
Waltham Fields Community Farm is holding their annual fundraiser, Sprout, on April 8th at the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation. Sprout is Waltham Fields Community Farm’s fundraiser and spring celebration, featuring an open beer and wine bar, delicious food catered by Season to Taste, live jazz, silent auction, raffle and grab bags. Proceeds support fresh food assistance and on-farm education.
Black Cat Rescue will be at Flatbread in Somerville for a Benefit Night on Tuesday, March 29th. All you have to do is order pizza! “From 5:00 pm to closing, $3.50 from each large pizza purchased and $1.75 from each small pizza purchased at Flatbread Somerville will be donated to Black Cat Rescue. The BCR team will be there spreading the word about black cat adoption and fostering, selling Black Cat Rescue merchandise, and raffling off some awesome prizes.” See the facebook event for details.
If you’re involved with a community organization and would like an in-kind donation for your fundraiser event, please don’t hesitate to ask! Send us your details at email@example.com.
