The last couple summers we’ve done some fun searches for free floats around town. This year we’re doing something a little different, and we hope you have a good time with it!
How it works: Starting Friday, September 18th, we’ll post a Salty Selfie every day on our Instagram (@floatboston) at 11:00am. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to get your own selfie at the same mystery location and tag us.

What’s at stake here? We’ll post ten Salty Selfies, from Friday September 18th through Sunday the 27th.
- We’ll send you a little something with your first entry.
- If you recreate any five, we’ll give you a free float.
- If you get all ten, we’ll gift you a Beginner Package of three floats!
- You have until September 30th to get your last selfie in.
All of the mystery locations are outdoors, publicly accessible, and shouldn’t pose a problem for distancing. Some of them are on private property, so please be respectful! It should go without saying, but don’t be a jerk.

Who is Salty? Salty is the name of our mascot goat stuffie. Sometime around Float’s opening, one of our friends had found this adorable little guy (at Ikea if memory serves) and decided we needed one. “Look, it’s a FLOAT GOAT!” they said. Salty has had some real adventures over the years, including being kidnapped! (yes, really!)
How precise do the selfies need to be? Angle? Time of day? If it’s clear to us that it’s in the same location, it counts! No need for exact recreations.
How will I know you’ve seen my selfie? We will like and/or comment on your post! We may not be checking every single day, but if a couple days go by and you don’t see an acknowledgment from us, feel free to send us a direct message.
Do I have to post to Instagram? No. Here’s how to enter if you want to keep your mug off the public interwebs: Gather your selfies in ONE email (small or thumbnail image sizes) and send it to us between September 27th and 30th. Email info@floatboston.com, and please make the subject line Salty Selfie Game. Only one email please: separate emails will be disqualified!
