What’s in my float kit

I was drifting happily in my first float in a while, and for some reason my thoughts latched on to my float kit. We provide most of what you need at Float: towels, shampoo, soap, combs, Q-tips, and so forth. But there are a couple extras I like to have with me when I float.

I’m very bad at remembering lists of items required for activities – I always forget something. I rely on lists and kits. For example, for dance classes, I have both: a dance bag with shoes and hair ties and a water bottle, and a list of the rest on a post-it where I keep that dance bag.

So, my float kit: you might be interested in its contents. I’m nosy, you’re probably nosy too, and today I’m happy to indulge you.

  1. travel size deodorant
  2. detangling comb. We have wide-tooth combs at Float too, but I like this one.
  3. Elvex earplugs. We sell these at Float for $5 (first pair free for members) as an alternative to disposables.* I like them – they make a good seal on my ears, and they’re super easy to use.
  4. travel size Body Glide, essential anti-chafe in summertime
  5. wet hair management
  6. looks like a contact lens case. Actually has my favorite face moisturizer in one well, and some eye cream in the other.

*You can always use our Mack’s earplugs which we provide for every float, and if you’re concerned about sustainability, take your pair home with you and reuse them for your next float. They can be reused many times.
